This time on the way to surf there was a group of young kids on the beach. A couple came over to ask me where I got my board. Apparently they just got into town from Brazil. They were disappointed that they would have to wait until 9 for a shop to open.

There were only a few good waves today. Wind and direction weren't cooperating.

Comments:
Parked south of the pier for once and walked up on a trio smoking weed. They were startled and nervous. One guy asked what they call "those guy with the oar and surfboard." I was out a little south of the pier. Small, but some fun ones comes through.

About as glassy as I've seen it in a long time. A few degrees different and this could have been an epic session. I did get some nice rides, but a lot of closeouts and kickouts.

Some sets came through, but mostly closeouts. I did get some fun rides on both sides of the pier. I did smack my forearm against a fin when I got caught in one closeout. At first I thought that I had cut myself and grabbed my arm really quick. Luckily, there was no cut but it did swell up quickly and I'm guessing that I will have a nice bruise soon. Good thing the fins aren't sharp like the bonzer's.

Went not expecting much because of the text report saying 1-2 feet. Well, I was surprised to get some good size out of it. I surfed north of the pier for a few and then snuck south to join up with Doug and Frank. Got one steep drop where i buried the nose! I think it was better than yesterday.

Met up with Frank & Doug on their longboards. I was on the right side of the pier, but went over to surf with them. Turned out to be really fun up until about 7:30 when the tide was filling back in. At about the same time a couple of kooks came out and sat way inside and got pounded and slpaped their boards together.
