Size: 3-5
Board: Double Eagle
Water Temp: 60, wore spring suit.

The dolphins were out having fun today. They were breaching and playing in the waves.

Some fun stuff, but not the size like we had yesterday.

First ding... happened when I was moving it around to put on the roof.

The power went out at our office around 9:30, so I headed to Turmo. It turned out to be an excellent day. I was sitting waaaay outside and getting some fast, steep rights. There was a lot of waiting, and I should have moved north sooner. Skip was out there getting some great rides. I saw that guy Mike and we chatted for a while. Talked to another guy that had a quad KG for a bit. Good times all around and really nice day.

Some rides were so steep I couldn't make some turns and lost my balance. I honestly let a few go that I should have taken. There was a crowd, but it wasn't out of control. I got some great rides, but not a of long ones. Sometimes I came out shaking from the adrenaline. I did finish up with one long right.

Had to head back into work to deal with bad state after rollout, but not before I worked out some aggression on some poor waves. Actually I had a great time. Spending all day Saturday with surf flicks in the background made me try new stuff

First one out. No, really! I had to get out early because of the Saturday rollout. Which turned out to be... not so good. I had actually ridden to work with my wedding board, but never got back out. Plus, the rack came apart as I was heading down Law...

Back to the surf. Not a lot of size and the tide was low, but I had fun.

3/26 Lunch

Time: 12ish
Location: Turmo
Tide: +2?
Direction: 280
Size: 2-4
Board: Double Eagle
Water Temp: 58
Wind Conditions: lots of texture, not enough for kiteboarding

Comments:
Checked out work, and although the size was good the rides were short. So I headed over to Turmo.

Really an odd day... It was like there was too much tide and stormy washing machine like waves. But there were plenty of fun rides to be had. There was some oddly good shape.

When I first got out, there was a lady kind of laying on here board and too close to shore to be catching waves. I realized when I got out that she was dazed/hurt. I talked to her and she had hit her head pretty bad, but she wasn't bleeding.

3/25 AM

Time: 8
Location: Turmo
Tide: +4 and rising
Direction: 283
Size: 2-4'
Board: Double Eagle
Water Temp: 57
Wind Conditions: ever so slight texture

Comments:
Not as good as yesterday, but probably got better as the tide dropped. Raced one guy for a misleading wave or two. He was in a rubber shirt and trunks! Did end up getting a few fun ones near the pump house.

I parked in a spot on the north side of the lot, I usually grab one on the south. There were a bunch of guys standing around the Pathfinder blocking my access. I had my board over my head and motioned that I was going to get in and put the board on the roof and this dumbass hit my board with his board. For a sec, I thought something was going to happen. But I think the guy realized he was in the wrong and didn't say anything.

Comments:
High tide was swamping out the good ones in the beginning. I ended up sitting too far outside at first, but then things got good. I had one of those rides that went so well and last so long that I was shaking at the end. Would have been three stars with another ride like that.

Not many people out because it rained last night. Ended up heading out right in front and missed several waves. The tide was really pretty high and although they looked good and steep. I had to go inside more than I wanted in order to pick anything up, but when I did it was great. really got some great rides and worked the face - wish I had a camera on me to see what it really looked like.

Got some good, fun rides. Lot of people out compared to a week day. I had to pull out of some rides early because of people on the inside. Ended up talking to this guy Mike on the way back. He had lots of questions about the board. I had met Mike a few years ago when he had a Skip Frye egg for sale for ~$600. I looked at it, but didn't buy it.

Looks like we have a swell coming in tomorrow:
OUTLOOK FOR SUNDAY...3 TO 5 FEET WITH SETS TO 7 FEET. HIGH RIP

Only one other guy out at the time... in a helmet. Some fun waves were to be had once you figured out where they jacked up. It was good for about 45 minutes and then a rip came in and messed up the surf far a while. I caught a few more and headed to Costco.

One of those days where you could see the lines coming in. This angle reall does Turmo well. Lots of long rides and good shape. I was able to grab a peak to myself. No sun, but some fog - which stuck around all day.

Long waits between sets, but the set waves were really fun. I was out about as far as the pier and picking up soem great rides with nice steeps faces and pretty fast for the area. Only had to kick out once, but did have to abort a few for impending closeouts. I was the only one out that far in that area, but the insides were a bit crowded with beginners (weather's nice).

First post work sunset session in a long time. I forgot how fun it is to get out of work and surf. There were a several shortboarders out and the waves were borderline closeout, but I got some great rides. Only one left though. I had to kickout several times, but also was able to stay on the board and hop over a few right before they closed out. Last wave was a great right that involved a lot of directional changes to keep in the right part of the wave.

Going to head up north, maybe all the way to San O.

Ended up driving straight to Trail 6. They have some new signs up since the last time I visited.

Surfed some pretty meager waves for a couple of hours. One guy was out there with his kid. He was good with the tricks and his son was getting frustrated.

Saw some dolphins, which I haven't seen in a while.

Still some work to do on the towers before the summer season starts.

I tried to go the Rainbow outlet, but they are closed on Sundays. Ended up eating at Pipes Cafe in San Clemente, which apparently is about to be sold to a new owner. The current owner was throwing a little bash when as I was leaving.

A little more size than yesterday. Got some fun ones, but not before I took a few bad drops. Ended up spending a bit too much time on the outside waiting for big ones. The surf actually looked better around lunch maybe because of the tide.

Found my wallet today at lunch! Turns out it was in the gum drawer. Thankfully I don't have to go to the DMV now.

Late morning surf today. It was really crowded because the weather is nice and the waves were good. I had some fun waves on the inside of Old Mans and then moved over to the Pump House and got a few fun ones. Then this guy kept snaking me. He would sit on the inside and then get on a wave when I was already on it! I had to abort several rides. So, turnabout being fair play, I did the same thing to him for my last ride.
