Big change since yesterday, still a few waves to be had though. There was a bit of a rip and current pushing north that caused some sloppy closeouts. Most rides were super quick.

Crowded, but still some are to work with. It was a long walk to the break and I the surf was hitting the cliff at one point. You had to walk out in the crashing surf. If you looked just right, it was like you were the first person to surf the area. It took awhile to get comfortable. The sets were big and looked like they were tearing off limbs, but you just need to make the big drop. It would rush out with a lot of speed, and then mush out. Although, I had extremely long rides for the pill. At one point, I was on the nose as much as I could be. I was supposed to meet Adam, but he was a no-show.

Had to go in to work on my day off for a bit. Hit TP on the way home and ran into Alison and Alison on the way back to the car. Good, fun stuff today. Tide was a bit high and it was mushy, but rare form for the pines. It was a bit crowded, but the waves were there too be taken. Fun drops, some mushed out and it was best to stay away from the inside where it got violent.

Unexpected lefts today. Not a lot of them, but when I pulled the first one it was great. A pretty short session as things are getting busy at work and I wanted to be on time. The rights were ok to closeout, but the lefts were great when they lined up.

Really fun this AM. Hit several nice shaped, hollow waves. Sure, they were mushy but not bad at all for summer. I stepped on something squishy on one of the last waves, but didn't get stung. It was a good reminder of what's out there.

I didn't feel like going back to work today, but it wasn't too bad.

First day back in the water after going to the wedding in Seattle. Feels good to be back in the ocean. I hit the pool up a few times on the trip, and I forgot how much the chlorine stings the eyes. Fun stuff today and good times. I was the only one on my peak most of the time. I did slip once trying to push into a pop up, but luckily avoided slamming back down.

Rather than doing a second session today, Alison brought an inner tube style raft and I swam out with my fins to the swim zone. We had fun on this overly hot day. We were probably floating around for about an hour. Then we sat in our chairs for a while and read (Alison slept). For dinner, we walked down with Shelby to Cass St Bakery for the last meal of our vacation. It was good to have Shelby walking strongly after he recent front paw issue.

Nothing was looking too good, but I headed out near Pismo anyway. Ended up scoring some really run rides. Peaks would just jump out and produced great form. Not incredible consistent, but when they came in it was good stuff. Didn't stay out too long as I was getting a friction burn/rash around my belly button.

The test results came back for Alison's mom and she has a rare form of cancer called Esthesioneuroblastoma.

Snuck out during lunch today for about 30 minutes. A little too mushy, too much tide, but still fun. Took 20 minutes to get there and about 10 to get back. Then I headed back out after work for some really fun ones near the estuary. Not many people out, but a family of spongers that were having a good time.

Nice sunset, until it hit the marine layer line. But then the sun did drop below that to become visible again. Got a few quick rides, then found a good peak and got some better rides. I even stayed out longer than I thought I would.

Great day at TP today. Again, went to the section where there's a big round scoop missing out of the top of the cliff. Just south of where the hawks were hanging out. I did three mini sessions and sat and read between each. There was only one other surfer and a family on boggie boards were occasionally out. On one wave had to ride between the family in a pretty narrow gap. A little girl asked me if surfing was fun. I told her that it was almost as fun as sponging. These speed dialer fins work great on this board too. I was able to get in front of waves when I was behind. I got a few bay barrels, but I could make it out of them.

Finished the 'Glitter Dome' and picked Alison up from the airport today.
