First trip with the double eagle in the new car. Unfortunately, I noticed some damage on one of the inside fin boxes. Didn't look like it happened in the water though. Luckily, I had some Solarez and was able to patch before I went out. Not a good day though. Lots of closeouts.

Haven't been out on the eagle in a while. It was really fun today. Bigger than normal for this time of year and the steep south wasn't too steep. I grabbed several fun, long rides. I was throwing the board around well consisdering.

Comments:
Went straight out from the ramp, nothing. Paddled to the pump house, not south enough. South was too crowded for my taste, so I went way north. I sat outside, still nothing. At this point I think my arms were sunburned. I finally did find a few rides and my last ride was the best.

Dropped Alison off for her flight around 5:30 AM and checked out the surf on the way home. Not much was happening and the tide was low. After breakfast I drove the long way and checked out La Jolla Shores, which was packed with paddle boarders and still no surf. I ended up at TP South. Pulled off a couple of good rides and called it a day. I was the only one out for a while and then a sponger was in to the north. later, a shortborder was in.

Brought a bigger board this time... There was the same surf camp setting up today. One of the councilors was dressed like Pocahontas. Grabbed a few fun glides. Not too much out there, but there was a guy on a pill getting some great rides.

Quick session, not much out there. A few guys in the parking lot were talking of going to San O, probably actually getting some surf up there.

The tide was really low and I could see what looked like an old pipe cutting diagonally from the Pump House towards the Point.

I drove down to turmo, but had to turn around when I thought that I forgot my rash guard. I thought it might have fallen out when I was trying to make the new cooler fit in the Pathfinder. It's too big and I ended up taking it out and putting it back in the house. Anyway, by the time I got down to Turmo people were already leaving. Turns out there's a contest and no parking. So I ended up going home and walking down. When I did get down there, some guy tried to rope me into taking the bouy out. The thing was pretty big and had an anchor and there was no way I was putting that on my board. Some other guy tried to swim it out and it looked like he had problems.

When I finally did get out, it was already getting crowded because they had taken a good chunk of Turmo for the contest. I did grab some fun outside waves and sat right on the bouy.

Got up at 5:30 to meet Frank and Doug at OB Pier... but they didn't show! Score one for the good guy, Tide was zero at 6 and it was closing out for the most part except the south. Drove over to Coronado, just south of the hotel, but it wasn't even breaking. Went back to the pier and then Dog Beach Jetty. The jetty was barreling, but there were a lot of guys sitting on the peak.

First surf was at TP south in front to the stairs and tower 2. Got a few fun rides, but I had to kick out each time as the broke in very little water. On the way home I stopped at La Jolla Shores and grabbed a few mushy rollers, that was fun and summer like. I brought the wedding board, but it wasn't the right day for it.

Went surfing, details hazy... I think this is the day that the pump house peak was too crowded and I just surfed inside the little cove area with a couple of longboarders. There were longs waits, but some fun sets came through. More inside though that I liked, so the tide was probably high.

Crowded, but not summer bad yet. Had some borderline homeless guy call out the D.E. on the way down the ramp. He really wanted to check it out, saying that he grew up with Larry. Fun rides today, with about the same size as the last few days. I had a great right in front which was very workable. One guy sitting on the inside made hand motions like he was using an old movie camera, that made me laugh. I tried to find it again, but it wasn't consistent there. End up going north and picking a few and then moved south. Ended up near Pipes and got some fun beach break, but then it started to get nasty with the tide.

Not many people out today. Maybe too many days in a row of good surf made people sore. An outside set caught pretty much everyone off guard. After that, I spend all my time outside. Got some great long rides with my last being my best. It was so long that I laid back down for a bit as it reformed and cleaned up and then I fell on to my back and rode it for a while.

The key pocket on my wetsuit recently ripped to shreds, so I've been using the key pocket on my leash. Today, I had to bail on a closeouts that left the board tombstoning. When I was getting it out of the pocket back at the car, the key was bent.

We had the second-trimester ultrasound today.
