5/12 PM
Time: 6ish
Location: Turmo, Old Man's
Tide: 0 at 8, probably +5 when I got out there
Direction: 219
Size: 2-4
Board: Wedding board
Water Temp: 62
Wind Conditions: none really noticed
Comments:
First sunset session in a while. Not a lot out there at Turmo, work was looking too closed out. I think the tide was just too high for the fish. Although, towards the end, I did figure out a good spot and got some really fun, steep & fast rides... considering the conditions.

3/10 PM
Time: 6
Location: Work
Tide: +1 and rising
Direction: 280
Size: 2-4
Board: Double Eagle
Water Temp: 56
Wind Conditions: slight texture
Comments:
First post work sunset session in a long time. I forgot how fun it is to get out of work and surf. There were a several shortboarders out and the waves were borderline closeout, but I got some great rides. Only one left though. I had to kickout several times, but also was able to stay on the board and hop over a few right before they closed out. Last wave was a great right that involved a lot of directional changes to keep in the right part of the wave.

1/9 AM **
Time: 9:30
Location: OB Pier
Tide: +7 high
Direction: uknown, damn didn't check it and it's shifted... maybe 260?
Size: 2-4'
Board: Sunset
Water Temp: 57
Wind Conditions: None until the end of the session
Comments:
Even though it was a monster high tide, it was a blast. Not too crowded either. Ended up meeting Adam over there. I don't know what it is, but it was breaking better than any place from Calumet south. Discovered a pretty big ding on the rail by the nose on the right hand side. Will need to dry out and be fixed before the next session...

Fun little peelers. I was the only one out on the peak. It was like a summer day... minus the crowds & a bit cooler.

11/14 PM
Time: 4:45
Location: Old Man's
Tide: -2?
Direction: 221
Size: 2-4, sets to 5.
Board: Sunset
Water Temp: 63
Wind Conditions: Nothing noticed (Santa Anna warm)
Comments:
Lowest tide I have surfed at Old Man's. Saw rocks I didn't know existed. Ran into rocks... luckily no dings or cuts! I was surprised to get a few quality rides. As usual for this area, longboarders were all over the waves before I could get in 'em. Had a few close calls with this bearded guy. Well, nothing too closed because I was wasn't on a longboard - less to avoid. On my way down saw a guy who had a bucket full of starfish. On the way back up, I couldn't help but admire the scene. I was thinking I would be able to picture the scene when I'm 90.

Time: 8
Location: Old Man's
Tide: +4 and filling in
Direction: 273
Size: 3-5'
Board: Sunset
Water Temp: 64°
Wind Conditions: None really
Comments:
Not as good as last night. Receding tide seems to be better here. The Point was going off. Tons of bugs bouncing off of my face as I walked over the piles of sea weed to get in. A lot of sand has washed over and covered up the piles. The smell was really strong and offensive when I walked off.

10/19 AM
Time: 9 AM
Location: Tower 19
Tide: +3 and rising
Direction: 210°
Size: 1'-2'
Board: 6' 8" Sunset egg
Water Temp: 62°
Wind Conditions: very light
Comments:
Super fun, the backwash was causing some bigger waves and drops than 1'-2' indicates. Actually swallowed some water trying to ride one all the way in when it exploded on me on the inside. You could time the backwash up with the coming wave and find the prefect spot, not many long rides though as they were quickly swallowed up by the next backwash.
